The Jessica Bellamy Zine showcases my passion for research and solving design problems. The zine contains my own research and writing on Jessica Bellamy, a black contemporary designer who uses her social media platform and online presence to make information more accessible to all. Her work brings attention to social issues that range from diversity in the design industry to the housing crisis on minority groups in Kentucky during COVID. I found the opportunity to design this project as a powerful exploration of new perspectives. I used Bellamy’s works and writing to inform the colors, type, and design choices within the zine. Every choice is a calculated decision based on my understanding of the designer.
