BIOGRAPHY
Jonah Sanderson (he/they) is a Chicago-based curator and art historian specializing in "Contemporary Filipino Art." As a second year SAIC MA Art History student, his work advocates for underrepresented narratives and BIPOC artists. Their curatorial approach creates cross-cultural dialogues to complicate regional identity politics and their research investigates socially-engaged art practices in the Philippines.

Recent projects include his curated exhibition, Islands From a Faltering Empire at OH Art Foundation, academic essay "Between Baguio and Chicago: Santiago Bose's Postcolonial Art" in Chicago Journal of Visual Art Issue 1, and exhibition review "When the Mekong Flows Into a Michigan Museum" in Plural Art Magazine (Singapore).
